RWCBM

A private members' network, web and mobile

A private hall where members list their companies, post what they are building, and ask each other for help. Invite-only, with a privacy model designed around the fact that a business phone number and a personal one are not the same thing.

The problem

A members' directory is easy. A members' directory that people will actually put their real contact details into is not. The group needed somewhere private, credible-looking, and specific enough that a member could ask for help without publishing their cell number to the internet.

What got built

Next.js on Clerk and Vercel Postgres, with a deliberate privacy layer: business contact details are visible to signed-in members, personal ones stay hidden behind per-field share toggles, and every profile carries a contact form that routes mail through Resend so an address is never exposed in the UI. A React Native companion app shares the same Clerk instance — sign up on the web, log in on the phone.

Details worth naming

  • Invite-only sign-up with per-field privacy toggles separating business contact details from personal ones.
  • Business directory and a community request board — post a need, mark it fulfilled, respond by email without exposing addresses.
  • Member directory rendered as a searchable Mapbox map of US locations alongside profile cards.
  • Admin console for category moderation, with user-submitted categories held for review before they enter the taxonomy.
  • Upstash rate limiting on write paths and a Node test suite covering search, enrichment, notifications, and permissions.

The next thing your business runs on starts here.

Tell us what it needs to do. Within a day you'll have a straight answer on what it takes to build, what it costs to run, and what we'd cut — and if the honest answer is that you don't need to build anything, you'll get that instead.

Or skip the form entirely — hello@pinelandtech.com reaches a person, not a queue.
