The problem

WordPress for a five-section brochure site means a database, a plugin surface, and a patching obligation to publish what amounts to a menu and a phone number.

What got built

One static page with anchored sections, WebP imagery with JPEG fallbacks, and a hosting config that sets security headers plus a one-day asset cache with a seven-day stale-while-revalidate window. It runs in parallel to the existing site, and the canonical tag deliberately points at the production domain so the review deployment never competes with the client's own site in search.

Details worth naming

  • Deployed alongside the live WordPress site so the client can evaluate before any DNS change.
  • Canonical URL points to the production domain, keeping the review deployment out of the index.
  • Security headers and a tuned cache policy configured at the edge.
  • Responsive imagery served as WebP with JPEG fallbacks.
