One free website a month. The board picks which one.

Put a business on the board: yours, or the one down the road that does good work and has no website to show for it, as long as its owner has said yes. Anybody can vote, nobody needs an account, and the entry with the most votes when the clock runs out is the one we build. The build is free. Hosting is $35 a month, and that is the whole of it.

Next drawing Thursday, October 15, nine in the morning Central.

Can't wait for a vote? There is a way to buy one now, and it is the better deal if the site is already overdue.

What a winner actually gets

Single Page website, built
$2,900Free
Hosting Only, required for 12 months
$35/mo
Everything else
Nothing

$420 over the first year, which is what the hosting costs and no more. No setup fee, nothing up front, and no hours of free changes: Hosting Only has none, and the terms below say so plainly.

The board is open

Nobody is on it yet, which means the first entry spends a month at the top with nothing to beat. Send this to somebody who should be up there.

Anybody can vote, once a day, with no account. The link is the whole campaign.

How it works.

It is a request board, the kind software teams use to decide what to build next, except what gets built is somebody's website and the people voting are whoever they can get to care.

  1. 01

    Somebody puts a business up

Yours, or one whose owner has said yes to being entered. A name for the board, a line on what they do, and why this one. A person reads every entry before it appears, so nothing lands on the board unread.

  2. 02

    People vote, once a day

No account, no email, no sign-up. One vote a day each, spent on whichever business you like, and you can back the same one again tomorrow. The link on every card is the one to send round.

  3. 03

The third Thursday, the top one wins

On the third Thursday of every month, at nine in the morning, we take the entry with the most votes, call them, and start. It comes off the board, and every other count goes back to zero for the next month.

  4. 04

    It gets built properly

The same standard as a site anybody pays for: designed for the business, fast on a phone, and passing all nine of the AI-friendly checks on the day it launches. Not a template with a logo dropped in.

The board.

Ordered by votes. Press the arrow to back one, open a card to send it to somebody else, and come back tomorrow for another vote.

Add one

Nobody is on the board yet.

The first entry has an easy month of it. Put a business up and it is the one at the top until somebody else arrives.

Sign in with your email

No password, and nothing to remember. We send a six digit code, you type it back, and that is it.

  • Two votes a day instead of one
  • Say something on an entry, so a business sees who turned up for it
  • Nothing to remember: no password, and the code is only ever needed once per browser

Your address is how we tell you that you won and nothing else, unless you tick the box. We never sell it and never pass it on.

Put a business on the board.

It does not have to be yours, but the owner has to have said yes. Some of the best entries will be the ones nobody would put up for themselves: the shop that has been there thirty years, the charity running on somebody's personal email, the tradesman whose whole marketing is a magnet on the truck. Ask them, then enter them.

The reason is the hosting. Winning commits that business to $35 a month for 12 months, and that is not a thing anybody can sign somebody else up for.

Write the pitch for the person deciding whether to vote, not for us. What the business is, what is in its way, and what a website would change.

If it wins, what you are agreeing to

The build is free and the hosting is not. It is $35 a month with us for the first 12 months, with no included hours, and the footer carries our mark. The terms in full.

On the board, where everyone sees it

Whatever you want people to vote for. It does not have to be the legal name.

Leave it blank if there is no site, or if it is a Facebook page. Neither counts against you.

This is the part people vote on. 0 of 600 characters.

A logo or a photographoptional

The shopfront, the truck, the sign, the logo. It goes on the card and on the picture that appears when somebody posts the link, and a card with a face on it gets voted for more than a card without one.

Up to 8 MB. JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC.

How we reach you

For us only, never on the board

None of this is published, shown to voters, or sent anywhere else. It is how we tell you that you won.

Which of these are you?

We build for a business whose owner asked, or said yes to somebody asking for them. There is no third option, and this is the one question on the form we check before anything gets built.

Read by a person before it appears. Usually a day.

Can't wait? Buy one now.

A vote takes a month and might not land. The standing small business offer takes a phone call, and it is a bigger site than the one being given away: the Essential build, up to up to five pages, on the Standard plan with an hour of changes every month and your own back office.

One flat $149 a month on a 24 month hosting agreement. Nothing due up front, and nothing invoiced until the site is live. The build is the difference: the plan alone is the same price.

The small business offer

$149/month

  • Essential website, $5,900 on the list, included
  • One hour of changes every month
  • Your own back office, and a reply within a business day
  • Nothing due up front

Cancelling inside the term does not cancel the remaining payments. Every term is on the offer page.

The fine print, all of it.

Nine numbered terms, what is and is not in the Single Page build, and the questions a free website raises. Read it before you enter, not in month two.

Know a business that should be on this board?

Ask the owner, then put them up. It takes two minutes, the entry costs them nothing, and the worst case is that a business that has never had a website finds out some of its customers would vote for one.
